Departments are division of a large organization into parts with specific responsibilities. For example, an organization can have separate departments like Account, Human Resource, Social Welfare department with specific responsibilities. Employer Zone offers you to create unlimited departments. These departments are used for creating designation, employee, reviews etc. Every department should have a unique name.


Click on configuration option menu & then choose department from drop-down menu. Here is the screenshot showing all the departments of a company. 


First column contains ‘option’ which has two different button. You can edit and delete by clicking on the respective button. These option buttons are accessible only if you have permission to perform that action. Further column shows name of the department & its description. 

All the designation of that department is also listed in this table along with the number of employees in that particular department.




Here you can check a label called 'Default' is added in the name of department which indicates that this is System Generated department & it cannot be deleted by any user.


To add new department, click on the 'Add New' button.

When you edit name of a department, it reflects everywhere in the application. Again make sure that no two department can have same name. To delete any department, click on the delete/trash icon on the table. Please note that deleting a department can result in all the related data (employee, designation etc) loss.
